Instructions for Authors

Preparing Your Electronic Files

The best option is using our template (please download it in this webpage).

Include text, references, figure captions, and all tables as part of a single text file.

We recommend using Times and Symbol fonts only.

Graphic files and figures

  • For initial submission, it is acceptable to embed graphic files into the text file in any of the allowed formats, and we encourage submission of one complete manuscript file containing text, tables, and all figures (including figures intended as supporting online material).
  • Higher resolution files may be requested upon acceptance for publication.
  • Color submission is encouraged. Although the printed version will be converted to black and white in order to keep costs low, the electronic version will benefit from using full colour in all figures.
  • Please include an identifying number (e.g., "Fig. 1") on the same page that includes the figure.
  • Photoshop files should be saved as .ps, .eps, or .pdf files.

Supplementary Materials

  • Please include all kind of supplementary materials related to your Manuscript. Those materials can include excel files containing data, equations, videos, raw data, additional figures, etc. They can be cited in the Manuscript, but this should be well understood without retrieving the supplementary materials.

How to Save Files in Acceptable Formats

We accept only the following formats:

  • .pdf (Adobe Portable Document Format)
  • .doc (Microsoft Word, version 6.0 and higher)
  • .docx (Microsoft Word 2007, 2008 or 2011 for Mac, and 2010). This is our preferred format
